Simmie Jane Miller

Missionary Simmie Jane Miller was born on July 9, 1941 in Foley, Florida.  She was the loving daughter of the late Ben and Ruth Tolliver.  Simmie was educated in the Taylor County School System and was a graduate of Jerkins High School. 

Missionary Simmie found employment in the nursing field.  She worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at various nursing homes until she retired. 

Missionary Simmie found Christ and she became a lifelong, faithful member of the Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church of Perry, Florida under the leadership of Bishop Cleveland Thomas, General Overseer. 

Missionary Simmie was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, church member and a dear friend.  She will be deeply missed.

Missionary Simmie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ruth Tolliver; her siblings, Gene L. Jordan, Yvone Jordan, Lena M. Cooper-Williams, Vibbian Tolliver, Elnora Holmes; nephew, Isaiah Leonard Tolliver and her niece, Martha Ann Tolliver.

On February 17, 2024, God in HIS infinite wisdom, saw fit to elevate Simmie to a place of peaceful rest.  She passed from mortal to immortality and is now safe in the arms of the Lord.

She is survived by her children, Darrin A. Miller (Gisela), Velma Miller, Vincent Miller (Teresa), Gerald Miller, Janice Miller, Donna Miller Melton and Deborah Gutierrez Cruz (Blas); her siblings, Deacon Leonard C. Tolliver (Brendalyn), Bessie White, Bonny Ruth Castilla, Mary Ann Bryant, Irabelle Jackson, and Frances Beatrice Tolliver; an uncle, Elijah Tolliver.  She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by Bishop Cleveland Thomas (Julia) and the Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Family and a host of other relatives and friends.
