Corine Lee Grant was born on July 1, 1941 in Morris, Georgia to Climmie Mae Lee. She was called home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2021 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital at the beautiful age of 80.
Corine was a 1960 graduate of Kaigler High School in Georgetown, GA. She then began to work harvesting crops at the local farms in the surrounding towns and cities in the area. In 1964, she relocated to Arcadia, FL and she began working as a cook at a small black owned store. She was married in Arcadia in 1974 and would eventually call this city her home. She accepted Christ and was an active member at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing spades and most of all spending time with her family and loved ones.
Her memory, spirit and love will forever be cherished by all of her family and friends.
Corine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cecil Grant; her mother, Climmie Mae Lee; two brothers, Robert Henry Morris and Climmie Jake Shingles; her daughter, Barbara Ann Lee and two sons, Michael Eric Lee and Willie Rufus Lee.
Surviving to cherish her memories include: her siblings Alberta Vinson (Columbus, GA), Randy Morris (Columbus, GA), Clifford Morris (Columbus, GA), Lula Morris (Chicago, IL) and Gussie Morris (Chicago, IL); her children: Calvin Lee (Sikeston MO), Carolyn Lee (Perry, FL), Luther LaShawn (Cheryl) Lee (Sikeston, MO) and Kenyatta Pervis Grant (Palatka, FL). She had 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a special friend who she referred to as her “Big brother” Mr. William Harold Lattimore of Arcadia, Fl.
